Southwest Movers
Looking at all the packed boxes delivered in a room at your new home can make you feel overwhelmed. Furthermore, realizing that you not only have to unpack the chaos but arrange and organize your home before you begin your work can increase the stress. However, efficiently planning and preparing your move beforehand can reduce the last-minute hassle and help you shift into the new space at a relaxed pace.

Moving Essentials

While we all have different everyday requirements, here are seven moving essentials you will need on move-in day-

Essential #1- An Overnight Bag: Your new house will feel like a vacation house until some boxes are unpacked. To avoid the stress of organizing on the very first day, pack an overnight bag with all the essentials you will require in the first few days. These will include your bathing and toiletry essentials, pajamas, clothes, and daily medications.

Essential #2- Bedding Essentials: You will definitely get tired after the long moving day, and the first thing you will want to do is crash as soon as the moving team leaves. A freshly made bed can do wonders to relax you in the midst of the chaos of cartons. Even if you are moving into a fully-furnished space or have made arrangements, you will still need fresh bedsheets, pillows, pillow covers, and covers.

Essential #3- Water and Food: Moving is a mentally and physically exhausting task. Once your moving company unloads the boxes, takes their payment, and leaves, you will need the energy to start unpacking. Make sure you have enough water and food to curb your hunger. Store some bottles in the refrigerator before you move in so you can have cold water after the exhausting ride. If that is not an option, bring a cooler of cold water. Easy-to-carry snacks like chips, fruits, and protein bars are good to fill you up quickly.

Essential #4- Phone Charger and Other Electrical Essentials: Your phone battery may drain with the multiple calls and songs you will play while moving. Keeping your phone charger handy is critical because they tend to mix up and get lost in the sea of articles you will be packing. Keep chargers for your laptop, tablet, and phone separately in your essentials bag so you can quickly charge them when required.

Essential #5- Toolkit and Flashlight: You will not be familiar with your new home, and if the power cuts off on your first night, you may be left in the darkness. Make sure to carry a toolkit and flashlight to save your day.

Essential #6- Cleaning Supplies: If you have already cleaned your home before moving in, great! But if not, you should keep some cleaning supplies in notice to clean your new house when you shift.

Essential #7- Utensils: Instead of waiting until all the boxes are unpacked, pack some basic utensils and cookwares separately to avoid getting frantic the next day when you have a lot on your hands already.
